Mix96 Annual Duck Race

Now a yearly tradition, The Green Retreats Group entered the annual Mix96 Duck Race.

All proceedings of the Mix96 duck race are donated to the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity.

Florence Nightingale Hospice provides a range of palliative and end-of-life care services to people in Buckinghamshire and parts of Oxfordshire and south Bedfordshire who have life-limiting illnesses such as chronic lung conditions, cancer and neurological conditions. It has an In-Patient Unit with twelve beds in the Hospice, and it supports patients in the home through the Nightingale 24/7 Care and Community Nursing Teams.

The event took place at The Honey Bee, Fairford Leys and the ducks got dropped into the brook. However, the event was filled with enthusiasm, Pimms, strawberries and great cheer! Our duck, Quack Panther unfortunately didn’t make it to the finals but we had a great time and of course, the most important part was supporting the Florence Nightingale Hospice charity.

We are looking forward taking part next year! …We’d love some new name suggestions!
